We know starting something new can feel overwhelming. Here are answers to the most common questions we receive about WestAccel Academy’s Tech Cohort.
Do I need any tech experience to join?
Nope! Our cohort is designed for absolute beginners. We start from the ground up with guided tech projects that help you build real confidence using technology, no prior experience required.
Will I earn any certifications after the program?
WestAccel Academy provides a Certificate of Completion recognizing your participation and progress in the 6-week cohort experience.
This is a non-credit, non-academic recognition, not a professional certification.
If you choose to pursue external credentials in the future (such as CompTIA A+), we can provide general guidance on how to register directly through the accredited testing provider.
Is an exam or voucher included?
No. Since this cohort focuses on tech empowerment rather than certification, the CompTIA A+ exam voucher is not included.
Participants who wish to take the A+ exam in the future will receive information on how to purchase it independently through the official testing provider.
Is this program self-paced?
No, it’s a live, cohort-based experience that meets once a week for six weeks.
Each session is approximately 4 hours long and includes guided mentorship, group interaction, and tech skill-building activities.
What payment options do you offer?
We offer a simple and flexible payment plan:
$99 deposit to reserve your seat (applied toward your balance)
$200 payment due Week 2
$200 payment due Week 4
Where are sessions held?
You can join online via Zoom or in-person at our Flowood, Mississippi location.
You’ll choose your format when reserving your seat.
Will I get a certificate at the end?
Yes! Participants who complete the full 6-week experience and paid in full are recognized with a WestAccel Certificate of Completion during our optional Cohort Graduation & Recognition Ceremony.
How long is each session?
Each weekly session lasts about 4 hours and includes interactive projects, group Q&A, and mentor check-ins.
Can my employer sponsor my participation?
Yes! Businesses and organizations can sponsor one or more employees to join a WestAccel Academy 6-Week Tech Confidence Cohort. Sponsored employees receive the same access, support, and Certificate of Completion as individual participants.
Only 12 in-person seats are available per cohort, and companies sponsoring two or more employees receive a 20% group discount!
